Volturi wife

"Do not worry, my love," Caius whispered to my ear while stroking my golden hair, "It is all taken care of."

As much as I wanted to believe him, his voice gave a hint of worry. My face was buried by his neck, inhaling his masculine scent, savoring the sweetness of his fragrance. My lips lingered at the hollow base of his neck, making a path towards his chin. He chuckled as I trace his lips with mine. Just when he thought I was going to linger, I pulled my mouth to the tip of his exquisite nose. With closed eyes, his lips tried to reach mine. I unsuccessfully eluded it for he held my face with his two hands. My revengeful nature triggered, I bit his lips until it bled. As he reflected a smile after my small misconduct, I regretted the action at once and licked the blood from his lips. Feeling the burning sensation in my throat, I pulled away from him, but I was still clutching his satin vest. His hands dropped from my face to my hands.
We looked into each other's eyes for half an hour. It was easy to stay still and indulge my eyes into his smoldering red pair. Still as statues and hard as marbles were we in our king sized bed. Immersing in the pleasure of each other's company, our eyes spoke without the need of words.
Alas, the pleasure was short-lived, a knock was heard from our door.

"Master Caius? Master Aro asks of you."  I was sure it was Demetri's voice.

It took Caius 1 second to reach the door and open it. I caught a glimpse of Demetri, bowing low, never looking straight into Caius' eyes. As he finished relaying his message, he acknowledge me with a small bow.

"Good day, Mistress." Then he left the doorway.

I stood up as Caius put on his coat, looking presentable for their meeting. The sun streams through our windows, thus, creating a glittering effect on his skin. For a second I did not breathe. Here before me was a man, an immortal who was damned for eternity with a temper that equals a devil,  in a black coat and tie walking towards me as if he was an angel descended from the heavens. The dark angel gave me a smirk.

He spats, "It's rude to stare."

"I was not staring, I am merely admiring that coat you are wearing. It fits you well"

Amused, he teases, "There's something missing here, as a matter of fact."

My eyes trained with years of experience in fashion and the fine arts were searching for errs in his ensemble but did not find one. He slowly covered the spaces between us, so slow that I think he was mocking me.

"I don't think there is anything missing, love. Are you sure there is?"

He was two steps away from me. " I am positively sure, Mio Amore" He gazes at me with a look that will punch a hole on the wall. He reached out and grabbed me by the waist, embracing me with a sudden fierceness that even lions would not budge with such a strong hold. Replicating the act towards him, he replied, "You."

"Pardon me, you?"

"Yes, I am not complete without you. Join me in the meeting halls. I am more myself when I am within your reach."

"All you have to do is ask, my love. I would gladly accompany you in the meeting chambers. Wait for me as I dress."

He released me with a reluctance so heart-wrenching, that I rewarded him with a soft kiss before I proceeded to change my dress. Ten seconds was all it took me to throw my bedroom clothes and emerged in my blue satin dress. Blue is his favorite color, he said it suited him as much as it suited me.

He was watching me the whole time as he frequently does. I smiled at him and he smirked. "Come now, love, Aro does not want late-comers, does he?"

"He'll not think of the time when he sees me."

"Such confidence, my lady has. A characteristic I have always found attractive." He offered his hand as we walked towards the majestic Baroque doors.

I took his hand and walked gracefully alongside him, with a haughty smile plastered on my face.

This is the duty of a Volturi's wife, we stand by our husbands and help them not forget who they really are.

her sister's meltdown

The door behind Athenodora felt cold. Her heart was chilled with fear; fear for what was coming. She was not fooled,  she knows they were all in danger. That look in Caius' eyes betrayed what they were discussing earlier in the hushed halls. She is aware that a war will soon break out.

As she descended the ancient steps of this glorious castle, she fumbled for her blue diamond pendant. This habit of hers meant that she is deep in her thoughts. She thinks of the possible reason why those things happened earlier. Why now? Before she could brew another theory, she saw her sister at the last step of the majestic stairs.

"Athenodora," she whispered.

Gifted with supernatural hearing, Athenodora nodded to acknowledge her sister.

"Sulpicia, we have a problem." Athenodora replied sullenly.

If vampires could cry her sister would have sobbing by now. Sulpicia's long lashed eyes were marked with grief. In a split second, she embraced Athenodora. This a rare encounter with the two Mistresses whose regal ways kept them at bay from emotional outbursts. Athenodora hugged her sister tightly and told her that this too shall pass. After a minute or so, Sulpicia released Athenodora and regained her composure. She conjured her poker face which was a malicious smirk.

"Today was not something we have hoped for but it was quite an adventure, don't you think, Thena?" she asked.

"Indeed, sister,"  Athenodora replied. "And I am sure it will be our last one.' She sighed as she walked to the window by the hall. The rain was splattering on the multi-colored window panes. The weather has been taunting them for the past 2 hours.

a cold afternoon

"Leave me", said Caius with a voice filled with cold anger.  I took a last glance at that once warm being who is now engulfed with wicked thoughts. I slammed the door as I walked out of the gloomy room.

Caius was not like that before this morning's escapade. My sister and I felt adventurous that we decided to hunt in the old fashioned way- on a saddle with hounds sniffing for our prey. We were heavily guarded, an extra precaution for we were to hunt in the forests. I was in my riding habit, ready to mount my gorgeous mare, when I heard Caius' familiar footsteps. I turned to  his glorious immortal face and saw a worried frown. My husband does not express fear among his peers especially among his enemies but I see fear every time I walk out of the castle. Fear of me getting hurt? Absurd! I am an immortal, it has been centuries and yet it has not registered on that iron skull of his. I can perfectly take care of myself, with or without the guards. Still, this expression moved my heart for it was only meant for me. I never saw him use that to any of the Masters nor my sisters. I grabbed his hand, put it on my waist and kissed his cheek, hoping that the gesture would erase his frown. He wrapped his arms around me and whispered, "I am coming with you." I smiled. At last, a time with him.

We followed the hounds pursue our prey, even if our senses are more superior than theirs we still followed their lead. Caius was riding beside me and Sulpicia was lagging behind, scolding Felix for keeping close to her. She was irritated at Aro for letting 3 guards follow her. She felt trapped and can't seem to get her head in the game.

As we near the middle of the forest, the hounds were barking madly, surrounding a brown wolf. I felt euphoric, I slid down my saddle and approached the furry beast. They don't smell appetizing but the blood coursing in them excited me. I have a fairly active imagination, you see.   As I walked towards it, the hounds parted like the red sea. I took the beast by its tail and shook it. The moment it tried to bit me, Caius was at my side, the wolf hanging by his hands, dead. It was then I noticed the guards assembled around us like they were anticipating something. Sulpicia was finished scolding Felix and was walking towards us. The dead wolf dropped with a thud as Caius fixed his arms around me, his mouth moving slightly, giving orders to the guards. As I sweep my eyes through the forest, i saw something glittered behind a tall oak tree. I followed him with my eyes, as the guards positioned themselves for an attack. Before the stranger even took another step, he was strangled by one of the guards, Demetri. He took him by his left leg and dragged him towards Caius, near enough to hear him but far enough for our protection. Felix was crouched in front of Sulpicia, ready for defense.  With a cold voice, Caius asked, " Who sent you here?" The stranger struggled his way out of Demetri's iron clad grasp. As if another guard heard Caius thoughts, he approach the stranger and posed to kill him. Giving him another chance, Caius asked, " Who sent you here?" The stranger replied, scared perhaps of Caius' cold fury, that he was sent to deliver a note, one from his old enemies. The stranger took a note from his jacket pocket and gives it to the guard who poses to split his neck. The guard gives it to Caius without letting go of the stranger's neck.  On Caius' signal, i heard a tearing sound, a loud thud, then a burning smell.

You must understand that kings of Volterra have made their enemies as they lived to be immortal royalties, it can't be helped.  And now the afternoon's escapade was a disaster. Caius  ordered for us to be transported back to the castle without any delay. We had to leave those splendid horses and hounds. As soon as we stepped into the castle, Caius proceeded to the meeting halls, where he expects Aro and Marcus to be there. Sulpicia and I entered our chambers silently, disappointed at today's event.

An hour passed and i resorted to read a book. I was nearly finished when Caius bursts in our chamber with a scowl on his face. Alas, my dearest love is furious. I do not know why, for the meeting chambers were sound proof that even my supernatural hearing can't discern what has been discussed inside those halls. Cautiously, I approached him, pulled him towards his chair and caresses his hands. He stares at my hands as they caress his, closes his eyes and heaves a sigh, opens his lids and looks at my longing eyes. His dark eyes , masked with cold fury, melts into the eyes of concern, sadness and anxiety, pleading for me to understand. I closed my eyes and I kiss his frowning forehead, then his glorious nose, his left cheek and finally, his upturned lips. I sighed as i tasted those sweet lips, saddened by thought of leaving it again. I closed my eyes to savor the memory, and when I opened my eyes, his eyes were again masked with an icy glare.

He utters 2 cold words. "Leave me"

La mia vita

To the Volturi guards he is known as one of the ancients, one of the Masters, and i am his mistress. It was centuries ago when we first held hands in this very garden. We stood on the green earth as lilacs and lavender float around us. The birds chirp, the sun smiles, even the weather is rejoicing for us. As we look in each other's eyes, i saw what i am and who i am going to be. A monster i saw not, but a heart that was left open, welcoming me home.
Now, ambitious as he may seem, he'll forever be that same person who put his heart in my hands, the only person who'll whisper in my ear the three words everybody longs to hear. To others he may be cruel and unbearable but to me he is Caius, my one and only Caius, who lights up my world. He is my carrisima, la mia vita.
The sun now is shining as it was before, beckoning me to bid my morning greetings to the reason of my existence. I noticed even the birds are singing. I smiled at the beautiful day.
